  1. What did we spend on compute last month, and what did we spend three months ago — as a ratio of what we actually used?

    Flat is healthy. Climbing means the system is doing more work per answer than it did a quarter ago, and it will keep doing more.

  2. If we changed one rule about who is allowed to see what, is that a configuration change or a sprint?

    If it's a sprint, permissions live in the code instead of the foundation — and every future rule costs the same again.

  3. When the model doesn't know something, what does the product do?

    If nobody can answer this precisely, the answer is that it guesses. In a licensed business, that isn't a quality problem. It's a liability with a delay on it.

Why the third step exists
